Christmas Kid Craft

Pompoms are super easy to make and so much fun to use!

Supplies:
 - Various colors of yarn (I prefer to pre-cut the yarn I'll be using for the pompom)
 - Scissors
 - A helping hand

Boy Birthday Card

I don't know about you, but finding a birthday card for a brother who loves dirt, guns, and things that explode can be hard. So here's what I decided to do.

Supplies:

     - Green paper
     - A canon silhouette (which can be downloaded here)
     - Scissors
     - Glue
     - Thin string of some sort
     - Sharpie markers (I used black, red, orange, and yellow)
     - Pen

First, the canon silhouette and a puff of smoke I quickly sketched were cut out and glued onto the card.

An Easy DIY Infinity Scarf

With the onset of fall, a new infinity scarf was in order. So after rummaging around in my mom's old clothes, I found this shirt and (with her permission) commenced to transform this much too large shirt into something that I could wear.

Sweater Makeover

My sister loves anything dark purple and for the longest time she had this cute sweater hanging in her closet. Unfortunately, it was much to wide and bulky for her. So I set about to fix this most unpleasant problem.

Too bulky

Quilled Birthday Card

My Grandmother's birthday was coming up and since I find shopping for the perfect gift terribly difficult (and expensive), my default plan is to hand make something. Plus, hand made stuff always seems to make a better impression, especially on older people. ;)

   Supplies:

 - Thick, sturdy, piece of white paper
 - Blue construction paper
 - Green construction paper
 - Ruler
 - Pencil
 - Glue (doesn't really matter what kind, I use Elmer's)
 - Scissors

Stuff ya need.

Old Dress to Cute Skirt

I found this dress amongst my mom's pile of clothing that used to be popular in the '80s. The material was perfect and the print was fashionable but the style... did people seriously wear that kind of thing? So I decided it needed a refashion.

Is that a bib sewn into the dress?

Too Big Shirt to a Drawstring Backpack

So I have this shirt which I love. The problem is, it's several times larger than me. Thus, it has sat forlornly in the back of my drawer for several years. Every once in a while, I would pull it out and try it on hoping that maybe it would fit. It never did.

Well one day, while scrolling through Pinterest, I came across this awesome tutorial which shows you how to turn a shirt into drawstring backpack. Of course, I immediately thought of my too big shirt. It turned out marvelously.

I now have a new drawstring backpack.
